Ken Rockwell strikes again!

After using it for a month, here's what I identified to like and dislike. I restrict what I believe are more critical characteristics.

AF is fast, accurate and consistent. Not best, but what we identified is that is predictable and consistent.

Ken rockWell D7000

AF is fairly configurable among 9pt, 21pt, 39pt and 3D dynamic. Not used yet dynamic, but 3D big manufacturing unit, but as noted by Nikon, it can be fooled.

Flash is excellent. The exposure is very accurate and consistent. It is not easily fooled by reflective objects. This is an aspect of my Pentax physiques (dl, K10, km, KX, K200), which I find to be very inconsistent.

Shutter noise is peaceful, not as noisy as Kx, but not as quiet as k7/k5.

Body size is good (for me). No body seems bulky at all. K7/k5 just "feels" more lovely when it occurred, Nevertheless. Even so, KX / km was a bit too small for me.

battery pack lasts very a bit on a single charge. (Do not use AA though)

Switching involving AF modes (AFA, AFS, AFC Auto and single, 3D, dynamic 9pt/21pt/39pt) by urgent a button and turning the control wheel is very convenient.

MyMenu configurable - add the items most commonly used for this menu. Very nice feature.

In-VR / VC. This stabilizes also picture on VF, which in some scenarios can help with AF. The first time I used Tamron 70-300 VC and hit was amazing. I was ask myself, can really keep it this constant to 300? switching from VC told me my reply. No.

Switching amongst manual is a PITA AutoISO and to make the menus. This is 2 or 3 button on the Pentax. To help this, I put this in MyMenu menu item to save a few button presses:

Edit: Fn button and add programming AutoISO On / Off at the top of MyMenu is effective in AutoISO toggling on / off so that it is an aversion.

When the camera is not able to say precisely meters beyond the range specified (in AV mode), exposure time displayed is "Lo". Why not only show exposure and flash it? "Lo" not good at all.

There is no instantaneous 100% zoom when reviewing shot taken. this is scheduled for Pentax.

No pixel mapping. This would be a nice feature to have.

The SR-Body will work with any lens mounted. If the lens has no VR / VC / OS, you will need your skill to make constant shot.

I imagined AA batteries lose Kx, but i can still use a clamp on the D7000 and LiIon battery lasts a while.

As a process, there is quite a bit more support from both Nikon and 3rd get together vendors.

Lens support for example, Tamron 70-300, 18-270 and 60mm pzd. Yes, Nikon lenses are more expensive and high-end lenses are stratospheric, but at least they are available.

As many people have said, buy the camera method that works for you.

So far, after one month, I like D7000 and Nikon method. There are a few quirks and afflictions, but with any system and so far I have not observed any show-stoppers are. What will be my primary class to assess the number of owners until now, my rate elevated owner.

Primary lens and Tamron 16-85 and 70-300 is using VC.
